New Rider Training

This is a private, one on one training class is intended for the new rider who has no riding experience or very little or has taken the MSF class (for those who have passed and those who didn't). For this type of training, you will need access to a motorcycle, either by owning one, borrowing one, or renting one.

Many of the women who work with me in this capacity are either looking to get some basic knowledge and experience of riding a motorcycle to gain confidence after or before they take the Basic Rider Course with the MSF, whey they have passed or are coming to work with me if they have have not passed the skills test portion at the end of the class. As a woman who rides, I have a full understanding of the unique challenges a new rider faces, and I can help you over come those challenges and help to get you up to speed, so you can go back and take the MSF course and be successful in passing the course the second time around.

In this class, I will teach you the basics of motorcycling. You will learn:

  • How to develop the right mental attitude and proper mindset for riding

  • The mental and physical demands of riding a motorcycle

  • The pre-ride check list and other safety considerations

  • The motorcycle controls such as clutch, brake, throttle, and shifter

  • the friction zone (this is learning how to use the clutch properly)

  • How to start and stop

  • Shifting gears

  • How to ride the motorcycle at slow speeds, conquer the cone weave, and U-turns, etc.

  • How to gain confidence in your riding and in your life.

You will be working with a fellow women rider, who is an experienced motorcycle coach. During the course of this training, you will ride in a safe, controlled environment like a parking lot, under the very close supervision of a coach who will instruct you and provide feedback to help you learn well and quickly with tons and tons of patience.

These classes are offered in 4 hours of total instruction in two 2-hour private lesson sessions. Afterwards, you can sign up for another new rider class consisting of the 4 hours, or can just sign up for a single 2 hour private session.  I will come to your location and will provide a trailer to get your motorcycle to the training site, which is usually an empty school, church, or business parking lot in close proximity to your house.

Cost for a 4-hour private new rider session - $340
