New Rider Training
This is a private, one on one training class is intended for the new rider who has no riding experience or very little. Many of the women who work with me in this capacity are either looking to get some basic knowledge and experience of riding a motorcycle to gain confidence just before they take the Basic Rider Course with the MSF, or they come to work with me if they have have not passed the skills text portion at the end of the class. As a woman who rides, I have a full understanding of the unique challenges a new rider faces, and I can help you over come those challenges and help to get you up to speed, so you can go back and take the MSF course and be successful in passing the course the second time around.

In this class, I will teach you the basics of motorcycling. You will learn:
-
How to develop the right mental attitude and proper mindset for riding
-
The mental and physical demands of riding a motorcycle
-
The pre-ride check list and other safety considerations
-
The motorcycle controls such as clutch, brake, throttle, and shifter
-
the friction zone (this is learning how to use the clutch properly)
-
How to start and stop
-
Shifting gears
-
How to ride the motorcycle at slow speeds, conquer the cone weave, and u-turns, etc.
-
How to gain confidence in your riding and in your life.
You will be working with a fellow women rider, who is an experienced motorcycle coach. During the course of this training, you will ride in a safe, controlled environment like a parking lot, under the very close supervision of a coach who will instruct you and provide feedback to help you learn well and quickly with tons and tons of patience.
During this training, you will be riding a Suzuki Boulevard S40 650cc, which is a light weight and easily manageable and maneuverable motorcycle great for learning on. UPDATE: After June 2022, we will no longer we providing a training motorcycle and will only be able to work with new riders who have access to their own motorcycle.
These classes are offered in 2 hour increments as a private lesson. You can sign up for just one 2-hour session, or you can sign up for as many lessons as you feel you need to get you feeling comfortable on the bike. How many lessons you sign up for is completely up to you.
